Donald Sterling – Not a Racist!
Activities to do Before You Write Anything
The very first thing is to be fully rested. Creativity melts away a lot of energy with your brain for some reason. After show creativity for more than four hours, you begin to become tired and you also start to crave a left brain activity like cleansing the pots or something. If you’re not fully rested whenever you sit down to write, three things may happen.
Donald Sterling – Not a Racist!
1. Your work will likely be mediocre.
2. You’ll begin to think that you’re not as well as you are. This may place you onto a downward spiral of doubt. If you think you are experiencing this volitile manner then take a few days off from writing and acquire some rest.
3. You will get stressed out because of writer’s block. Whenever your mind is tired so you ask it to produce something, it will simply say, “Bog off, I’m still tired. Leave me alone.” So be sure to have a good nights sleep and make sure you take a regular break from writing.
Second is to cut off the product and put up a ‘do not disturb sign’. When you’re writing creatively and something interrupts you, it’s extremely difficult to get back just what it was you were getting at in your work. You don’t want any distractions. You desire peace and quiet for at least 2 hours in one sitting, so try and arrange this time with someone else who lives along with you.
The third thing is to count your blessings. An extraordinary technique this. I used to be astonished by the effect this had in my ability. All you do is start considering all the good things in your lifetime. Forget the bad things. People have had bad experiences of some type, but also everyone has plenty of nice experiences too. Call most of these experiences up in your brain, whether they are from the existing or from the past it doesn’t matter, just recall them. Want to yourself how good things are actually. Choose to feel good about yourself.
Now, sometimes this system is difficult. Sometimes you will find experiences that need to be dealt with. There may be a quarrel within your family that’s on your mind or something. Something like this is quite difficult to not take into consideration. All I can suggest is basically that you talk with a friend about any unpleasant situations and try to solve the problem as quickly as possible.
Second to last is eat sparingly. Digesting food requires energy. The greater we eat the more energy must digest it. Whenever we overeat then the gastrointestinal tract needs more energy than has become assigned to it and therefore takes it from you by force and allows you to tired. As you know, you are unable to churn out good work when you find yourself tired. It’s extremely hard.
So…a small bowl of cereal using a tiny bit of sugar ‘s all you should put within you before writing. Toast is fine but watch the butter or marg. Fats require more energy to collapse and take longer to get into the system. You want complex carbohydrates which are found in cereals. These offer you a constant energy for a couple hours. The tiny bit of sugar compensates to the energy used to digest the food.
Lastly, go for a walk around the block. Light exercise and clean air stimulate the brain DRAMATICALLY! Please take a pen and some paper along because you’re sure to start having ideas. Your work is placing your brain in its favourite environment. There’s a lot of oxygen, plenty of blood being pumped in it and you’re engaged in a left brain activity which relaxes the mind. Place anything in its favourite environment and will also function at its peak. So…select an early morning stroll neighborhood, round the block or simply to the shops for any pint of milk. It’ll would you the world of good, if nothing else…
